MicrollamTM
Planks from Trus Joist MacMillan

Scaffold Service, Inc. sells and rents MicrollamTM
LVL wood scaffold planks from Trus Joist MacMillan. LVL planking
is the result of a unique manufacturing process that improves on Mother
Natures best. Laminated veneer lumber (LVL) is created by permanently
bonding individual sheets of veneer together, using adhesives, heat
and pressure, with the grain in each layer of veneer running parallel
to the grain in the next. The process disperses defects, such as knots,
splits and slope of grain, that weaken ordinary solid-sawn lumber. The
result is lumber up to three times more consistent than ordinary
lumber.
Longer life means lower cost: With MicrollamTM
LVL scaffold planks, warping, twisting and splitting are much
less of a problem, so theyre on the job a lot longer -- youll
spend less money. Planks are so consistent that you dont need
to compensate for that "weak plank" that comes along every
so often with solid-sawn planks. Consistent stiffness from one plank
to the next means no surprises up on the planked deck.
A broad range of options lets you zero in on the most
efficient size for each job. Planks are available in thicknesses from
1 1/2 inch to 2 1/2 inch and in various lengths.
